HERITAGE
The origins of Norwich Footwear can be traced back to the early 1900’s. Founded by Adelman Goodman, the company originally made shoes in London, but in 1936 Adelman and his two sons took the decision to relocate to Norwich. A city, which at the time, was thriving with shoe factories specialising in ladies and children’s shoes.
Up to and during World War II, the company produced unbranded footwear and latterly footwear for the armed forces, but in 1946 the decision was taken to specialise in wider fitting ladies shoes. Van Dal was born.
Today the Van Dal brand remains in the city, and is joined under Norwich Footwear by a number of brands including American lifestyle brand BEARPAW, Italian made BioNatura and most recently, Padders. |
